Totterdown is a five-time winner over hurdles and was last seen making all in a lower graded race at Leicester. The form of the race recently received a boost following a subsequent win for At A Pinch who won a handicap hurdle at Southwell a couple of weeks ago. Totterdown is still well handicapped on the best of his old form and has won off marks as high as 130. He races here off 124 and Finn Lambert, who rode him to success three months ago is back on board today. Despite being a twelve-year-old now, he is still relatively lightly raced with low mileage on the clock. He can make his presence felt here.
3-07 @ Chepstow – TOP OF THE BILL (15/2)
Top Of The Bill has really come to the boil just at the right time. He is still fairly unexposed compared to some of these rivals and most importantly is a previous course and distance winner. He has adapted well to these staying chases and potentially still looks on the upgrade. He is just five pounds higher than when he beat Sporting Ace at Exeter over this trip. He goes well for Jordan Nailor who has partnered him in every start since November 2021. The cheekpieces are back on as is customary now and he has to be considered here.
3-45 @ Chepstow – DESTINED TO SHINE (9/4)
Destined To Shine can live up to his name following a fine seasonal reappearance at Wetherby. Despite being off the track for the guts of a year, the Kerry Lee trained eleven-year-old led three from home before tiredness kicked in and he was passed by Richmond Lake. With fitness now on his side, the son of Dubai Destination can account for these rivals. He is the only proven course and distance winner in the field and with the form of his last race already working out following a subsequent win for Pay The Piper he has to make the shortlist.
4-17 @ Chepstow – ALI STAR BERT (3/1)
Ali Star Bert looks as though he has hit form just at the right time. The seven-year-old son of Phoenix Reach dropped to a career low mark last time and took full advantage by winning at Uttoxeter. He has won off this mark of 86 in the past and in a field where many rivals struggle to put a pair of solid efforts together, he is of obvious interest. Jack Quinlan takes over in the saddle for the first time here and they can sit just off the pace before striking late on.
