We came so close last weekend with the 14/1 treble. Cincinnati and Philadelphia did the business but Portland Timbers could only muster a 0-0 draw with Seattle Sounders. Despite an 11-5 shot difference in favour of the Timbers. Shame, but we go again this weekend. Check out my free football betting tips for the weekend’s action across the Eastern and Western Conferences in the MLS.
ORLANDO CITY SC vs Colorado Rapids (12:30 am BST, Sunday 11th June)
I start this weekend’s picks with Orlando City, who are riding a crest of a wave, with five matches unbeaten in a row and two wins from their last three games. Ironically, both of those wins were away from home but they face a team who are winless in their last 6 contests here.
Orlando are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference but have played 15 matches compared to some teams, who have played 17. They’ve lost just 4 matches this season. Colorado Rapids are 2nd from last in the Western Conference and just 1 point from rock bottom. They’ve only won twice this season.
Orlando have won the last three meetings between the pair and I’m happy to stick with them to do so once again.
ATLANTA UNITED vs DC United (12:30 am BST, Sunday 11th June)
My second pick is Atlanta United to beat DC United. Atlanta have beaten DC in 7 of the last 10 head-to-head meetings between the pair. They’ve won 5 out of 7 at the Mercedes Benz Stadium.
Atlanta are 5th in the Eastern Conference. Whilst they tend to draw far too many matches, they’ve won 6 this season, lost just 4, and scored 32 goals. DC United are 7th in the Eastern and also have 6 wins this season. They’re just 2 points behind Atlanta but Atlanta are on a 4-match unbeaten streak whilst DC United have lost 3 of the last 4 matches away from home. I’ll side with Atlanta in this match.
SPORTING KANSAS vs Austin FC (01:30 am BST, Sunday 11th June)
The third pick is Sporting Kansas to beat Austin FC. Sporting are third bottom in the Western Conference and they face 8th-placed Austin FC. Sporting have won the last three matches on the bounce at home. Austin have not had a very good away record recently and currently have won just 1 from their last 6 games played.
Sporting have won 6 of their last 10 games at home whilst Austin have failed to score in 6 of their last 10 away matches. With these stats in mind, Sporting Kansas have the edge here.
ST LOUIS CITY vs LA Galaxy (6 pm BST, Sunday 11th June)
My final selection is top-placed St Louis City to beat LA Galaxy. St Louis are now a point clear at the top with 2 games in hand thanks to their attacking play. They have drawn just one match this season and have won 9 of their total games played. They’ve scored 32 goals and conceded 16 goals in the Western Conference.
LA Galaxy are bottom of the Western Conference in stark contrast. They’ve played two games less than Colorado, who sit in 13th place, but have won just 3 matches this season and have the worst record across the two Conferences combined.
