Weekend Premier League action tomorrow, 6th May. Plenty of matches to ponder over and after tipping up a weekend accumulator tips, I’ll now turn my attention to the best ‘Both Teams To Score’ bets of the weekend. We hit the accy last weekend but we couldn’t see the BTTS selections get over the line. Let’s change that, this week with these btts tips.
BTTS Tips 4-fold – 8/1 bet365
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace – BTTS (YES) – 3:00 pm BST, Saturday
I start my 4-fold with Tottenham taking on Crystal Palace. This could well be a close match as Palace are hitting a good bit of form under Roy Hodgson whilst Tottenham are much better at home. I think either way, Spurs are going to concede to Palace and they also tend to score at home. We’ve seen BTTS in 62% of Tottenham’s matches this season and 59% of their home matches.
Crystal Palace have failed to score away from home 8 times this season but that’s largely their form prior to Roy taking over and they’ve scored 7 away goals in 3 matches last month and only failed against Wolves. But they have a very solid home defensive record.
Wolverhampton vs Aston Villa – BTTS (YES) – 3:00 pm BST, Saturday
Wolves are a very solid home team, especially defensively and have kept 9 clean sheets at home this season (53%) 2nd only to Manchester City. However, Aston Villa have only failed to score away from home 5 times this season and whilst I worry about the draw result in the accy, it’s not an issue with BTTS. Assuming they both score.
Of course, the BTTS doesn’t hit a lot for Wolves at home because of the facts stated above but sometimes you just have a feeling and Villa is a very attacking team who have scored away from home in 8 of their last 9.
Liverpool vs Brentford – BTTS (YES) – 5:30 pm BST, Saturday
We move to the evening match on Saturday now and it’s Liverpool taking on Brentford, at Anfield. Liverpool has seen BTTS at home this season 53% of the time whilst Brentford has seen BTTS away from home 47% of the time. Liverpool have failed to score at home just once this season and so you’d expect that they’d get on the scoresheet in this one. Brentford have failed to score away just 6 times and that was to teams like Wolves and Manchester United who are solid at home. Brentford have also beaten Man City away, this season.
Newcastle vs Arsenal – BTTS (YES) – 4:30 pm BST, Sunday
We move into Sunday for the final selection and it’s Newcastle taking on Arsenal. Newcastle have a pretty solid home record and we’ve seen BTTS at St James Park 44% of the time. Due to their home wins to nil. They’ve failed to score at home just 3 times this season. Arsenal has seen BTTS away from home 41% of the time and has failed to score away just once. That’s the stat, along with Newcastle’s brilliant form this season that says we’ll see BTTS here.
