Another weekend of Major League Soccer is coming our way. St Louis City did the business in the earlier match last weekend. However, far too many draws last time out and that meant we were unable to hit the 26/1 accumulator. I’ve had a look over this weekend’s fixtures nice and early and have found some early good prices to provide you with a 15.41/1 MLS accumulator. ATLANTA UNITED vs Orlando City SC (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 16th July)
My first selection this weekend is Atlanta United to continue their good form over Orlando City. Atlanta are now 5th in the Eastern Conference and have won back-to-back matches without conceding a goal. The team beat 9th placed Montreal away 1-0 last weekend and 6th placed Philadelphia 2-0 prior to that. They’ve now lost just once in their last 10 games in the MLS and are unbeaten in their last 5 at home with 3 wins and 2 draws.
Orlando City are 7th in the Eastern Conference and are also in good form in the MLS. They were beaten by Real Salt Lake 4-0 on the weekend to half their 4-game unbeaten run. Away from home, they have now not won in three though. In those three matches, they’ve been beaten 3-1 and 4-0 and got a 0-0 stalemate with Seattle Sounders.
The two teams have met on many occasions and Atlanta are unbeaten in the last 4. Most recently they drew 1-1, at Orlando. Atlanta also beat Orlando away from home back in September 2022. Prior to that, they drew again 1-1 at Atlanta and Atlanta enjoyed another win in September 2021. This time it was a 3-0 home win.
FC CINCINNATI vs Nashville SC (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 16th July)
It’s first against second at the Nippert Stadium. FC Cincinnati are still unbeaten at home this year and haven’t lost since a 3-2 defeat to Chicago Fire back at the start of October 2022. Since then, they’ve won 10 out of 11 games. The most recent being a 2-2 draw with New England Revolution. If they were to beat Nashville SC then they’d be 10 points clear in the Eastern Conference with a game in hand over Nashville.
Nashville, 2nd in the table, have won 2 of their last 5 matches in the MLS. However, both of those wins were are home and they are now winless in their last four away from home. Three consecutive defeats without even a goal scored means that they come into this match as the big underdogs, in my opinion.
Cincinnati have won 2 of the last 4 head-to-heads. Nashville have just 1 win when they won at home back in February of this year.
AUSTIN FC vs Sporting Kansas City (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 16th July)
The third selection is Austin FC to beat Sporting Kansas City. Austin are 6th in the Western Conference. They have only lost once in the last 5 at home in the MLS. The other 4 matches were all wins. They’ve scored 10 goals in those last five matches and conceded just 3 goals. They have won back-to-back without conceding a goal. Both wins were by a 3-0 score.
Sporting Kansas sit 11th in the Western Conference. They seem to be a drawing master right now, with 4 draws in their last 5 away matches. They score goals though and have scored 5 in their last 3 matches.
The head-to-head record shows Sporting Kansas winning the last match 4-1 at home. Austin have won the previous three and have won the last 2 played at the Q2 stadium.
REAL SALT LAKE vs New York Red Bulls (2:30 AM BST, Sunday 16th July)
Real Salt Lake are just 4 points away from the top of the Western Conference sitting 4th in the table. Whilst the home form hasn’t been electrifying (1 win in the last 5) they’ve only played twice at home over the last month and, on the whole, Real Salt Lake are unbeaten in the last 5 matches and have won 3 of those. Last time out they drew 2-2 with Sporting Kansas to keep that run going.
New York Red Bulls are 11th in the Eastern Conference. Away from home, they’ve won just once in the last five matches. That win was a 1-0 win over bottom-placed CF Inter Miami. They tend to struggle to score goals away from home and have scored just three in those last five matches.
The two teams have not met since 2020, which ended in a draw.
