Last weekend was a 2/4 result in the end with draws spoiling the other two predictions. Columbus Crew were winning 1-0 until the very last few minutes and Portland Timbers drew a drab 0-0. The 0-0 would have been a more bitter pill to swallow if Columbus held on. I’m going to have another accumulator bet for this weekend’s MLS action, so strap in and here we go. Read on to see my free football tips for the MLS games this weekend.
Charlotte FC vs CF MONTREAL (Draw No Bet) (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 25th June)
Just like last week, I’ll take an outsider as my first selection in this accumulator. Whilst Charlotte’s home form is decent enough (3 wins from the last 5 and 1 defeat in 5), the overall form isn’t the best. Charlotte have now not won in their last 4 matches and they have conceded goals galore in the MLS. They’ve conceded 9 goals in their last 3 matches and it’s only really been their ability to score that’s got them out of that.
CF Montreal’s form is the opposite. Their overall form is half-decent (won 3 of the last 5 and lost just 1), but the away form isn’t the greatest. They’ve now not won away from home since the end of April and in the 4 matches following that win over Sporting Kansas, they’ve lost 3 and drawn 1. Twice in those 4 matches, they’ve failed to score and, of course, that’s a worry. However, with Charlotte letting in so many goals and with Montreal actually beating solid teams like Nashville recently, I’ll take a chance on Montreal on the draw no bet, as I’m sick of being done by draws. Montreal have also beaten Charlotte in both head-to-head meetings. One home and one away.
DC United vs FC CINCINNATI (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 25th June)
The second selection is FC Cincinnati to beat DC United. If Cincinnati were at home here then their price would be far shorter and at an individual price of 23/10, I think Cincinnati looks like decent value in this match. DC United have only won one match in their last 5 in the MLS but their home form shows just one defeat in the last 5. Losing most recently to Real Salt Lake.
Cincinnati, though, are on fire in the Eastern Conference and are on top of the tree. They’ve won 13 from 18 this season and they’ve been defeated just once. Their away form shows 2 wins from their last 5 along with 2 draws. Losing that one time to St Louis City. Other than that big loss to St Louis, the other 4 results have been a half-decent showing in defence with 3 goals conceded in 4 matches. Head-to-head shows that Cincinnati won the last away match between the pair 5-2 and have won the lead 2 head-to-head encounters.
NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION vs Toronto FC (12:30 AM BST, Sunday 25th June)
The third selection in this weekend’s MLS accumulator is New England Revolution to beat Toronto FC. New England have won their last two home matches and are unbeaten in their last 5. Winning 3 and drawing 2 of their last 5 at home.
Toronto were well beaten in their last match to Cincinnati (3-0) and are now winless in their last 4 games. It’s even worse away from home though as they’ve lost 4 of the last 5 and drawn the other. They’ve also scored just once in the last 4 away from home. New England are 3rd in the table and won the last match between the two (2-0 away from home)
