After picking out a very tasty looking 14/1 treble on the MLS action over the weekend with my expert accumulator MLS tips, I’m now looking at the both teams to score market for the weekend’s action in the US. We’re halfway through the season and teams are looking for play-off positions. My preview of all the best bets and my BTTS accumulator tips can be found below.
Seattle Sounders vs Portland Timbers – BTTS (YES) – 9:30pm BST, Saturday 3rd June
I start with the Saturday night match and Seattle Sounders taking on Portland Timbers. Whilst I can see Seattle winning this on current form and the fact that they sit top of the Western Conference, I think we could see an upset in this match. The head-to-head says it all and in the last four competitive matches between the pair, Portland Timbers have won them all and, in the majority of cases, won well.
More importantly, though, for this bet, we see both teams scoring in the vast majority of cases. We saw a 0-0 between the pair in a friendly but competitively speaking, BTTS has happened in 8 out of 10 games played between the two franchises. It’s a great pick to get us started on a Saturday night.
Columbus Crew vs Charlotte FC – BTTS (YES) – 12:30am BST, Sunday 4th June
Moving into Sunday, my next pick is BTTS in the Columbus Crew vs Charlotte encounter. Columbus Crew have scored in 21 of their last 23 matches and they’ve also scored in their last 10 matches at home in-a-row. Also, in Columbus Crew’s last 7 matches, 5 of those have seen both teams score.
Charlotte have scored in 13 out of their last 15 matches. They’ve won 5 out of their last 7 games played and there tend to be a lot of goals in their matches. In fact, 6 out of the last 8 of those matches have been over 2.5 goals scored. I think with these stats in mind, both teams scoring looks to be the pick.
FC Cincinnati vs Chicago Fire – BTTS (YES) – 12:30am BST, Sunday 4th June
My third selection is Cincinnati taking on Chicago Fire. Cincinnati is on a fine run and especially at home. They are top of the Eastern Conference and have won 11 of the 15 played so far with just 1 defeat. They have won the last 7 matches in-a-row and are unbeaten in their last 10 games played with 9 wins and a draw.
They take on Chicago Fire, who are struggling for form and find themselves in the bottom 4 of the Eastern Conference. They’ve failed to win in 4 of their last 5 matches. Both sides have scored in 4 of their last 5 meetings and we’ve seen over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of the last 5 matches played between the pair.
Austin FC vs Real Salt Lake – BTTS (YES) – 1:30am BST, Sunday 4th June
The penultimate pick will be Austin taking on Real Salt Lake. Austin is 8th in the Western Conference with 5 wins this season from 15 games played. Real Salt Lake are third from the foot of the table and just 4 points from rock bottom.
After a good start for Real Salt Lake, they’ve not won in the last 2 matches but we’ve seen goals in them. If we include the US Open Cup then Salt Lake have won 3 of their last 5 games and they’ve scored 8 goals in those 5 matches, including a 3-2 defeat most recently, losing to LA Galaxy. Austin have won 3 of their last 4 in the league format and have scored 5 times in those 4 matches. Head-to-head between these two franchises has seen over 2.5 goals scored in the last 5 between the teams. There has also been BTTS in 3 out of the last 5 encounters.
St Louis City vs Houston Dynamo – BTTS (YES) – 1:30am BST, Sunday 4th June
The final selection is St Louis City and Houston Dynamo. St Louis are 2nd in the Western Conference table and have scored 29 goals in 13 matches. Houston are 9th in the Western Conference table and have also scored 15 goals in their 14 matches. Houston haven’t scored like St Louis in the league, but they’ve scored 9 in their last 4 matches across league and cup formats. St Louis look very likely to score at home and so the question is if Houston can score. St Louis have conceded in 7 of their last 9 home matches.
