Both Teams to Score is where I’ll be focusing on with my weekend BTTS accumulator MLS tips. We were let down by two teams last weekend as 2/4 came in with both teams scoring. I’ve had some torrid luck with these BTTS accumulators as there always seems to be one team that doesn’t play ball. Take a look at my free BTTS football tips for this weekend’s MLS action below.
New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution – BTTS (YES) – 12:30 AM BST, Sunday 9th July
New York Red Bulls take on New England in the early hours of Sunday morning British Summer Time. New York RB have been scoring for fun. In the last five home matches, they’ve scored 12 goals and conceded 12 too. New England have scored 6 away from home in the last five matches and conceded 10.
These two teams have met 10 times in the last 4 years. In those 10 matches, we’ve only failed to see both teams score twice. The last 5 matches have finished 2-1, 0-1, 2-3, 3-2 and 3-1. It all points to both teams scoring, once again.
Columbus Crew vs New York City – BTTS (YES) – 12:30 AM BST, Sunday 9th July
My 2nd selection is Columbus Crew and New York City to both get on the scoresheet. Both of these teams come into this match having not lost the last 5 matches respectively.
Columbus Crew have now scored in the last 9 matches in a row. In 8 of those matches, they also conceded. New York City have scored in their last 5 matches in a row and in 8 of their last 10. They’ve conceded in 8 out of their last 10 also.
They’ve played each other 8 times in the last 3 years. 6 out of the 8 matches ended with both teams scoring. In the other 2 matches, New York won but they were both when New York was at home. They’re away in this one and that makes the BTTS bet look even more appealing.
Real Salt Lake vs Orlando City – BTTS (YES) – 2:30 AM BST, Sunday 9th July
Real Salt Lake are at home here and, rather bizarrely, that puts them at a disadvantage. They’ve not won any of the last 5 matches at home and have not lost in any of the last 5 away, winning 4 of those 5 games.
Despite the fact that Real Salt Lake have found it hard to score goals at home recently, I think they’ll score in this one. Orlando have scored in 4 of the last 5 matches away from home and more importantly the head-to-head has a BTTS history to boost the selection. 4 out of the last 6 between the two teams have seen both teams hitting the back of the net.
LA Galaxy vs Philadelphia Union – BTTS (YES) – 3:30 AM BST, Sunday 9th July
LA Galaxy have scored in 4 of their last 5 matches and also conceded in those 4 matches too. Philadelphia Union have also managed to hit the back of the net in 4 of the last 5. They have also conceded in 4 of those 5 games.
The last head-to-head between the two was back in 2019. A match in which LA Galaxy won 2-0. In the last 5 matches between the two teams, we’ve seen both teams scoring in 3 of those. Both of the times Philli have not scored have been when they have been the away team. However, 4-5 years later, Philadelphia score more goals now and they’ve scored away from home in 4 of the last 5.
Los Angeles FC vs San Jose Earthquakes – BTTS (YES) – 3:30 AM BST, Sunday 9th July
The final selection is Los Angeles taking on San Jose Earthquakes. Los Angeles have scored in 8 out of their last 10 home matches. San Jose Earthquakes have also scored in 4 of the last 5 away matches. Also, 8 out of the last 10 away from home, they’ve also scored. With these two teams’ records combined 16/20 times the team has scored.
If we look at the head-to-head meetings between the two teams, they’ve played 5 times in the past two years. Every single one of the 5 matches in that period has seen both teams scoring with the most recent being only in May 2023.
