The Championship is the focus of our attention here as we take a look at the Millwall vs Luton tips and betting trends ahead of this 12:30pm BST kick-off on Good Friday lunchtime. This will either be a game that will decide the fate of these two promotion outsiders, or a dress rehearsal for one of even higher stakes. The Lions are playing to sow up a top-six berth, but the Hatters are further down that line – and still have an outside shot at catching Sheffield United in second place.

Millwall’s Home Comforts
Millwall weren’t able to respond to their shock 1-0 home defeat to Huddersfield with a win last time out, and are goalless in two after a draw at West Brom, but it was a respectable point for Gary Rowett’s side, given the recent home record of their hosts.
The Lions were the better team in the second half at the Hawthorns, too, and will be hoping to replicate that performance, whilst continuing to thrive when hosting the best sides in the league.
Coventry, Middlesbrough, Watford, West Brom and Sheffield United have all departed South Bermondsey empty-handed, while even champions elect Burnley could only attain a point, so it’s an ominous assignment for the visitors.
Edwards’ Luton Purring
After winning the League Two title with Forest Green, last season, with an attractive style of play, Rob Edwards was headhunted by Watford, who subsequently sacked him 10 games into his tenure – and seven months down the line, the former England Under-20s coach got his revenge.
Now Head Coach of rivals Luton, Edward masterminded a 2-0 victory over the Hornets, to put his side 12 points and seven places better off.
In fact, the Hatters have taken 17 points from the last 21 available, a run which has propelled them into a comfortable position in the top six.
The Tactics Board
Ordinarily, Rowett might have been inclined to name an unchanged side after a good second-half performance, but Charlie Cresswell got a fractured eye socket last time out and could be replaced by Shaun Hutchinson.
The Lions stalwart has been a consistent Championship defender, but the 32-year-old has not started since January and it could be a challenge for him to handle the athleticism of Carlton Morris and Elijah Adebayo, who have proved such a deadly combination this season.
Plus, the visitors can look to their January recruits for inspiration: Marvellous Nakamba has offered excellent midfield protection since joining from Aston Villa, while the pace and power of Cody Drameh has seen the Leeds loanee become one of the Championship’s top wing-backs.
Millwall vs Luton Betting Tips
It’s hard to bet against Luton on current form, but Millwall’s home record against the top sides means this could be an even game. The smart money, therefore, could be on the visitors to win with the insurance of the draw no bet option: this means the stake is returned if the game ends honours even.
