We’re into the finale of the Premier League season. Manchester City are already crowned champions. We already know that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle will be competing in the Champions League next season alongside the league title winners and we also know that Liverpool and Brighton will be in the Europa League.
Aston Villa, Brentford and Tottenham will fight it out for a Europa Conference League position, whilst it’s all to play for at the bottom as three teams in the shape of Leeds, Leicester, and Everton attempt to escape relegation but only one of those three will succeed. My free expert accumulator tips for the final EPL weekend are below. Let’s sign out on a high.
ASTON VILLA vs Brighton (4:30pm BST, Sunday)
My first selection is Aston Villa to beat Brighton. Brighton have now qualified for European football for the first time in their history and Aston Villa want to win to get themselves some European football next season in the form of the Europa Conference League. It’s not an event to sniff at as West Ham have shown. If you win that event and get a trophy, with Europa League qualification in the same season, then that beats about 70% of the league in terms of a successful season.
Aston Villa had a solid result last weekend against Liverpool. They have a strong home record, with the last 6 in-a-row won at Villa Park and that includes wins over Tottenham and Newcastle. They’ve also conceded just 1 goal in those 6 matches with that solitary goal coming in the 2-1 win over Tottenham. It’s the most solid home form of the Premier League over the last 6 matches.
Brighton are looking like a really solid team nowadays and I don’t pick Villa easily here. Brighton have 2 wins from their last 4 games and 3 wins from their last 8 away from home. I’ll side with Villa on this one.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs Nottingham Forest (4:30pm BST, Sunday)
Next up, I’ll take Crystal Palace to beat Nottingham Forest. Forest had a brilliant result against Arsenal last weekend but the match was a home tie. Steve Cooper’s side have a woeful away record this season and have just 1 point from their last 8 away matches. In that time, they’ve conceded 20 goals across those 8 matches.
Crystal Palace have improved vastly with Roy Hodgson back at the helm. At home, they’ve won 3 of the last 4 league games whilst drawing the other match and conceding just 1 goal. They got very good points against both Newcastle and Liverpool also. Not to mention beating West Ham. It’s Palace for me, at Selhurst Park.

Southampton vs LIVERPOOL (4:30pm BST, Sunday)
The third pick is Liverpool to beat Southampton. The Saints have lost their last 4 matches at home and have just 4 points in their last 8 games played at home. They’ve also been knocked out of the FA Cup by Grimsby at home. Sometimes a team at the bottom just plays with more freedom when relegated and they all start to perform. It hasn’t happened that way for Southampton though. They continue to look poor.
Liverpool got a draw last weekend to Aston Villa but prior to that had 7 wins in a row and although I do expect Southampton to raise their game for their last home match of the season in the Premier League, I don’t expect it to be enough to stop Liverpool winning.

EVERTON vs Bournemouth (4:30pm BST, Sunday)
Everton are my final pick in the accumulator. They most definitely have the nicer of the matches out of the three teams fighting it out to escape relegation. Manager Sean Dyche did well when he first came into Goodison Park and, although the form has taken a tumble, I think the team will have enough to beat a Bournemouth side who really have little to play for. In front of the home fans will also help and Everton are the only side that knows that they have it in their hands. If they win, nothing else matters.
Bournemouth have lost the last 3 matches now but have a decent away record. They’ve won 4 of their last 8 away from home. Important to note though, that they were wins against Southampton and Leicester. Although you have to give them credit for wins against Wolves and Tottenham as well.
