On Sunday, at 16:30 pm, BST, the Premier League will kick off for each and every team, on the final day. Leeds United will need to win this match and also hope that Everton loses AND Leicester fail to beat West Ham, for them to escape relegation on the final day.
Tottenham will not be in the Champions League this season or the Europa League, but they still have a chance to make the Europa Conference League if they can get a win here and Aston Villa fail to beat Brighton. So, let’s have a look at the key betting trends and best football betting tips for the game.
Too Little, Too Late for Leeds?
Whilst we’ve seen some slight improvement from Leeds United, since Big Sam took over, it’s just too little, too late. They go into the final match having to beat Tottenham. But also, hoping that Everton loses at home and Leicester don’t beat a West Ham side that really couldn’t care less, on Sunday. It’s really against them and they’ll need to put their heads down, win and then just hope.
Ultimately, the cliche that the Premier League table doesn’t lie is true. Leeds have been pretty average for the whole season and their lack of firepower has shown itself in the 2nd half of the season. After too many matches, they should have got points but left empty handed and it’s culminated in a likely quick relegation.
Leeds have managed to get points against the teams around them at the bottom but there have been too many draws. Just 2pts from their last 4 home matches and 2 wins from their last 8. 3 draws in that time and just 10 goals scored in 8 home matches. In the last 4 home matches, they’ve scored 5 goals and conceded a mammoth 14.
Another Below-Average Season for Spurs
Tottenham will finish the season 7th-9th this season. It’s been another season that is below average for them. A team that has very high expectations and enough players in the squad to achieve a top 6 position at the very least. Time and time again though, Spurs are far too inconsistent and especially at the end of the season. Much like their north-London neighbours.
Tottenham are winless away from home in the last 4 and have won just 1pt from those 4. They have not won away since Jan, and that 1-0 win is their only win in the last 8. They’ve also conceded 21 goals in those last 8 away matches. With that in mind, it’s probably a good time to play Tottenham. Especially as they continue to attempt to get a new boss in the hot chair. A task that looks quite difficult.
I’m not convinced that anybody at the club knows how to play away from home. Against Newcastle, when they got thrashed, they defended far too deep and then the match after, it was the opposite. They’re likely happy to end the season now and look for a new boss.
Head-to-Head Meetings
Tottenham have won the last 3 head-to-head meetings. The last time they met at Elland Road, Spurs won 4-0. Feb 2022. The Last time we saw a Leeds win was prior to these 3 matches, when they won 3-1, in May 2021. Since their return to the Premier League, it’s 4-1 Spurs.
Leeds United vs Tottenham Betting Tips
I think both teams to score is the way to go here. I will also have a small bet on Leeds winning, though. I’ve explained in the BTTS Accumulator how these two sit 1st and 2nd for BTTS data and Leeds knows that they need to win in front of their own fans and then hope other results go their way. Spurs look awful away from home to me and they are there for the taking.
