We have five matches in the Premier League this Saturday afternoon that are set for the 3pm kick-off and we’re going to focus our weekend acca on four of those games. We have two at home and two away, so here’s what I’ll be going for in my weekend Premier League accumulator tips 4-fold bet.
Arsenal vs Brentford (3pm GMT, Saturday)
We start with the league leaders at home, taking on Brentford. Arsenal have now lost 2 in a row, with successive 1-0 losses in the FA Cup, to Man City and then in the league, to Everton. Both were away matches though and I expect them to get back to winning ways at The Emirates. It certainly won’t be an easy match for The Gunners though. They face a team, in Brentford, who are top of the “last 6 played” table, with 4 wins and 2 draws. Conceding just 3 goals in those 6 matches.
If we look at Arsenal at home though, they’ve not lost once and only failed to score in the 0-0 with Newcastle last month. They’ve indeed won every other game, scored 17 goals in the other 5 home matches and conceded just 6. Arsenal could potentially welcome back Jesus, also.
I could see both teams scoring in this fixture but I expect Arsenal to get the 3pts and strengthen their grip on the top of the table.
Fulham vs Nottingham Forest (3pm GMT, Saturday)
My 2nd selection is going to be Fulham to beat Forest. This one could be a close match but with Fulham having a home advantage, it’s swayed me. They got a hard-fought 0-0 away result in their last match and they’ve got wins over Chelsea and Southampton at home most recently along with narrow defeats to Spurs and Man United, when at home.
Forest have some decent form and haven’t lost in 5 and have won 3 of those 5. Away from home though, a 1-1 draw with bottom of the league Bournemouth and a 1-0 win against lowly out-of-form Southampton. In fact, Nottingham Forest lost 60% of their away matches “to nil” which only makes me think Fulham will win this important match.
Leicester vs Tottenham (3pm GMT, Saturday)
Leicester take on Spurs at the King Power stadium and I think Spurs will come through this one. Tottenham have won their last 2 matches 1-0 now, with wins over Man City and away to Fulham. They have only lost to teams like Man City, Newcastle and Arsenal away this season and I just don’t think Leicester are of that ilk this season. They score enough goals but they concede like mad and that rather random win against Villa aside, they’ve lost 4 from their last 6.
Southampton vs Wolves (3pm GMT, Saturday)
I’m taking Wolves to beat Southampton in this one. Wolves sit at a respectable 6th in the “last 4 matches” table with 2 wins, 1 draw and a defeat. Whilst Southampton have 3 defeats in their last 4. In fact, Southampton have now lost 8 of their last 9.
Wolves’ 3-0 win over Liverpool can only spur them on to do greater things this season. Whilst Southampton have scored just 2 goals in their last 4 and 4 in their last 6. They’ve lost to teams like Villa and Forest at home this season and recently and although it could be a close match, I think Wolves are the pick.
