14:10 @ Uttoxeter – Tonto Foley (7/2)
Trainer: Christian Williams
Jockey: Ellis Collier
Tonto Foley delivered his best run to date when fourth at Newcastle last time out. It is worth remembering that he is one of the most inexperienced in this line-up and is very likely to improve on that last run that was his first for over a hundred days. He was far from unsuited in with the underfoot conditions last day and with the ground even more testing today, he ought to improve on it. Ellis Collier is an up and coming apprentice and he can offload some eight-pounds from his partners’ back. With further improvement likely he is one for any shortlist.
15:20 @ Uttoxeter – Corey’s Courage (6/4)
Trainer: Olly Murphy
Jockey: Lewis Stones
Corey’s Courage can build on what was a decisive first win of the season at Huntingdon last time. Stepped up in trip and partnered by Lewis Stones, the seven-year-old mare dominated her rivals and ran out a comfortable eight-and-a-half length victor. The opposition here today looks similarly exposed and will need to up their game in order to stop a repeat result. The yard continues to be in excellent shape and the selection is still well in on the best of her old form. She has to be respected here.
15:55 @ Uttoxeter – Lord Of Kerak (2/1)
Trainer: Olly Murphy
Jockey: Lewis Stones
Lord Of Kerak is the only previous course and distance winner in this five runner field and experience around here will count for a lot. The eight-year-old gelding by Martaline has been building his way back to form in his last few runs and a return to this track could encourage him to put his head in front once more. After a two month break on his most recent start, he was rather unfortunate to bump into the well regarded Famous Bridge. The pair tussled in the closing stages with Lord Of Kerak just losing out. It was a further two dozen lengths back to the third placed First Lord Du Couet indicating that the form may be better than it originally looked.
17:05 @ Uttoxeter – Breizh Alko (9/2)
Trainer: Martin Keighley
Jockey: Sean Bowen
Breizh Alko looks to make it two wins in as many starts as he scrapes in at the foot of the handicap here. The veteran twelve-year-old has been a marvellous representative for his connections throughout the years even though he is so lightly raced. This trip that is just short of three miles is well within his comfort zone and he can make the most of the weight that he receives from each and every rival. Showing no signs of stopping, Martin Keighley looks to have placed him perfectly once more as he bids to turn away some disappointing and thoroughly exposed rivals. Still well handicapped on the best of his old form he has to have every chance of going in again under Sean Bowen.
