Aintree Betting Trends and Statistics

The Mildmay course at Aintree is a sharp flat track that suits the fast nippy types especially when the ground rides good or even faster. Ex flat horses tend to be suited by the course.

The winning most trainer over the past five years has been Dan Skelton who’s horses have always to be respected here. Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson also have had many winners here in that time span and should be noted whilst two smaller trainers to note are Mel Rowley and James Owen who have an excellent win ratio here from just a handful of runners in recent years.

Harry Skelton has ridden the most winners in the past five years and rides the track particularly well whilst Irish jockey Mark Walsh has an excellent win ratio when riding here.

Aintree Races History

The Grand National is the course’s big race of the year and is watched all around the World with a historical background made famous by the likes of Red Rum winning the big race three times in the 1970’s and more recently Tiger Roll scoring back to back Grand Nationals in 2018/19. The fences have been modified in recent years but the race is still a spectacle and appeals to the twice a year punter.

The three day meeting is very much part of the local fabric with the ladies of Liverpool out in their finest on Ladies Day on the Friday of the meeting.
