Ascot Races Overview

Royal Ascot Races 2025

Ascot is a dual-purpose race track with top-class racing under both codes throughout the year. The feature meeting at the Berkshire track is Royal Ascot spread over five days in June each year. It hosts 13 of Britain’s 36 annual Flat Group 1 races plus three Grade 1 jumps races.

The flat track is right-handed and just under 1 ¾ miles in length. It is of a galloping nature with easy turns.

The National Hunt course is triangular and right handed with the chase course having eight plain fences and two open ditches per circuit. The hurdle course has six flights of hurdles per circuit.

Royal Ascot is Britain’s most valuable race meeting, attracting many of the world’s finest flat racehorses to compete for millions of pounds.
