Before the introduction of the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, the My Pension Expert Melling Chase was the only Grade 1 chase run over the intermediate trip of 2M 4F at any of the spring Festivals. The Aintree Festival race holds a long list of smart chasers who are either stepping up from 2m or dropping back from 3M.
