Dundalk Races Overview
Dundalk Racecourse, Ireland’s sole all-weather track, is situated north of Dundalk in County Louth. Opening its doors for horse racing in 2007, it has a polytrack surface similar to those at Lingfield and Chelmsford in Britain, enabling flat racing to be held throughout the year. The course is illuminated by floodlights, which allows racing to continue during the winter months, from late October to mid-March.
With a total of 43 fixtures annually, Dundalk Racecourse becomes a hub for flat racing, particularly during these colder months. The track is left-handed, about ten furlongs in circumference, with a two and a half furlong run-in.
Location: Dundalk Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Dundalk, County Louth.
